What is a Cookie?
Cookies are small files which are stored on a computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next.
Using the Cookie Jar
To open the Cookie Jar, click the bitten cookie icon in the to-right of PD Options.
The top field is for selecting the Proxy Group that will be used for cookie generation.
As of now, only the Global Proxy group can be used.
The Select Site menu is where to choose the site to generate cookies for. The sites in that list are the only ones currently supported. If the Website is in this list, then it needs cookies.
To use the Cookie Jar, select a site from the list with and press the Generate button.
To Clear ALL Cookies, select the site, and press the Clear Jar button.
Press the + button next to Cookies Solved to view the cookie count for the individual sites.
Cookie Jar Controls
Import (Add) Cookies - Adds Cookies to the Cookies already in the Cookie Jar
Import (Overwrite) Cookies - Replaces ALL Cookies in the Cookie Jar. BE CAREFUL
Export All Cookies - Saves cookies to a .json file. This file can be used on another PC or Server
Most errors while generating cookies are normal. Just keep running the Cookie Jar.
If there is an error about bad proxies, it is best to switch to localhost by explicitly entering localhost as the only proxy in the global group, or deleting all proxies in the global group.
In terms of timing, it's best to start generating cookies 24 hours before the drop starts for Yeezy Supply and continue up until drop time, or stop an hour or two before. For Adidas 50% your cookies must be harvested the week of a release starting on Monday and 50% needs to be harvested within 24 hrs of release. Aim to generate at least 3 times the number of tasks. So if there are 50 tasks, aim for a minimum of 150 cookies.
Cookie Jar FAQ
Q: Is it okay to close the cookie jar after generating cookies?
A: No, leave it open or optimally minimize the window.
Q: Do we need to apply the cookies to the tasks or is this automatic?
Q: Will it tell us if the cookies are expired?
A: They will be removed from the list automatically and will not notify you.
Q: Do we need to pair the proxies to the cookies we will be using on the footsites?
A: No that’s not how anti bot works for footsites.
Q: I am getting nothing but Error Messages on Footsites?
A: Errors are normal. Let it run for 1 hour, if you have 0 Cookies afterwards, remove or add proxies.
Q: What does “Failed setting Cookie” mean?
A: This is a new logging to avoid the harvester appearing frozen. Multiple proxies in the global proxy pool may increase harvesting success rate if you are only using 1 proxy currently.
Here are a few things to try to help gen Cookies faster:
- Use a rotating proxy in the Global Proxy List.
- Use more than 30 AIO DC Proxies in the Global Proxy List.
- Stop and Start the Cookie Jar until the (Browser) message goes away.
Do not make a ticket unless Cookies ARE NOT being generated. Speed is not something we can control.
