Welcome to the Project Destroyer Funko Master Guide. Here, we will give you some tips and tricks of the Funko trade, as well as go over setups and releases for the Funko sites that we support.
First off, we will talk about your favorite subject, research! How do I know what to buy? Is it hyped? Is it limited? Can I make money? Hopefully, you will learn some valuable information on how to determine if copping a particular Funko will be worth your time and money. To begin There are four main types of Funko drops
- Common - Not Hyped, mainly for collectors
- Chase Variants - Rarely Announced. They are randomly handed out when orders are packaged. There is no way to know what ratio they come in. Very valuable.
- Convention Releases - Drops associated with a “Con” aka Comic Con, etc.
- Hype - Rare one-time releases, low stock. Usually associated with a Con or a specific event in a Movie or Television show.
Funko Shop will regularly announce their releases on their website and through their email lists. Usually, they drop at 2pm EST pr 11am PST. For these types of drops, this is the most common method you can use to research their value as they are more common. The first thing is to use eBay! Search the name of the Funko Pop and search to see if there are pre-orders listed. If there are, filter the results by “Sold Listings” and look at the number of sales, if any. If you feel that there are enough sales and there appears to be a market, then your next step is to set up for the release.
Before the release, use this Inventory Counter chrome extension to check stock numbers before actually buying it: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/invcounter/lpmkacgmkeknboeoomgmhjgdgdfhbdjp?hl=en NOTE: Inventory Counter does not always work, but is still a very useful tool.
A rule of thumb is that if stock is 15k or higher, it might be a brick if it’s not a hyped Funko Pop.
Keywords: The keywords for the release will be the name of the item. Each word beginning with a “+” sign and separated by a “,”. So if the name is Majin Buu Funko Pop, the keywords are +Majin,+Buu,+Funko,+Pop. Also, because you know that Pop will definitely be in the name, you do not have to use the +Funko portion, shortening your final keyword to +Majin,+Buu,+Pop. You can use either method you like. If you are unsure of the keywords for a Funko, you can wait for the drop and use Mass Link Change.
Profiles: It is suggested to Jig your address as they do check for multiples. Also, you can use Privacy cards.
Start Instructions: Start your tasks 15 Minutes Early with 10,000 Error/Monitor Delays. Drop them to 500 30 seconds before release. Don’t forget to press Save after you change the delays.
