What is a Catch-All Email Account?
A catch-all email account is an address that is used to receive all messages that are sent to an incorrect email address for a domain. For example, if you were to have the domain sendmoreyeezys.com you could use the following emails; Sean@sendmoreyeezys.com, Dyl@sendmoreyeezys.com, or literally any number/letter combination in front of the @sendmoreyeezys.com domain. These would all receive the same emails regardless of the combination you chose.
How to create your own:
1. Purchase a domain name
First, you will need your own domain. It can be anything to make it look like the email is tied to an organization/business. You'll need to check if your domain is available, not all of them are.
We recommend purchasing through Namecheap but there are many other domain registrars you can choose from. We like Namecheap because they include free WHOIS privacy (your contact info won't be made available to the public) and keeping customer info safe has always been important to us.
2. Sign in to namecheap
Log on to your Namecheap account and go to the dashboard on the left side:
3. Select Domain List
Located in the left sidebar and click on the Manage button next to your domain:
4. Click Add Catch-all
Scroll down to the Redirect Email section and click on the Add catch all button:
5. Set forward to address
Enter the destination email address (your domain you purchased) in the Forward to field and click on the checkmark to save the changes:
Once you save them, the following message appears:
NOTE 2: Delivery of test emails sent from the same email address that is set as Forwarded to will most likely fail. Thus, use another email address when testing email forwarding.
